(NEW YORK – June 8, 2011) Spare Dad another tie. Road warrior dads can finally unwrap a Father’s Day present that gets them through airport security in minutes. CLEAR, the first and only biometric-based secure identification program for airport security, is offering a free Family Plan upgrade for all new memberships, from now until June 20.
Members don’t have to waste time joining the regular airport security screening lines to show their driver’s license and boarding pass to the TSA document checker. Instead, they breeze through the CLEAR lane, verifying their identity at the CLEAR kiosk, and go directly to physical screening in moments.
CLEAR is currently operating at Denver International Airport and Orlando International Airport. The company plans to introduce additional airports this year.
â€Wouldn’t you rather enjoy more time with your family, or stay longer at the office, than standing in line at the airport?" CLEAR CEO Caryn Seidman-Becker asked.
â€Our members save about 30 minutes each time they use their CLEARcards – which is more than 20 million minutes as a group. And with average airline fees about $125 for a missed flight, they’re saving lots of money as well.â€
Membership costs $179 per year for unlimited use. The family plan covers a second household member. All children under 18 can use the lane free of charge when accompanied by an adult member and do not require enrollment.
Joining CLEAR is a simple two-step process. New members can pre-enroll online at CLEARme.com. The second step is completed in person at a CLEARcube enrollment center where an attendant guides the member through a quick scan of their passport and secondary photo ID, fingerprints and iris image. Members' CLEARcards then arrive promptly via mail about a week later.
